After the floods that hit Emilia-Romagna in May, causing economic setbacks and the severe damage to agricultural production, local wineries have planned initiatives across the region with the goal of revitalizing the wine sector.”
On the occasion of the Frizz’arte event, organized on July 27 by the Forlì Predappio winery, SVC gathered the entire team to visit old colleagues and clients, planning a tour of the wineries they have built and with which they have collaborated over the years.
The trip allowed them to appreciate the evolution of these wineries over time and observe them during the delicate period just before the harvest, characterized by a strong sense of joy and hope for producing an excellent crop, which this year is more precious than ever, given the threat of root asphyxia faced by the vines.
The Forlì Predappio Cooperative Winery, recognized as one of the oldest in Italy by Fedagri – Confcooperative, was founded in 1908 and features a facility equipped with modern technologies and spaces suitable for the vinification of approximately 500,000 quintals of grapes, supplied by more than 2,500 member grape growers.
The General Manager, Bruno Ranieri, guided us through the heart of the winery’s production area, where cutting-edge equipment is complemented by meticulous analytical controls, ensuring high production standards that are often not taken for granted especially in association with such large volumes. The company has grown exponentially in a short time, thanks in part to its close collaboration with the Coviro Group on quality projects, reaffirming, after more than a century of activity, its commitment to continuous improvement and growth.
From the tastings, we were able to understand the level of selection and experimentation carried out upstream, as well as the resulting enhancement of the final product. We were very pleased with the excellent results achieved.
The investment in modern technologies is made possible by the cooperative business model, which provides significant income prospects and represents, in an increasingly dynamic market like today’s, the strength of collaboration.
The spirit of its founding members has been respected and elevated by emphasizing ancient grape varieties (Albana, Cagnina, Rubicone, Pagadebit, Trebbiano, and Sangiovese) in an effort to develop a new local viticulture project, which, in our opinion, has been higlhly successful!
The atmosphere within the park that hosted the event was welcoming and friendly, allowing us, during the tasting, to connect with a series of skilled artisans and local gastronomic products presented in the form of street food, all set to the tunes of a delightful twist band.
The warmth of this wonderful land gave us, as always, an unforgettable experience.
