On June 10, 2023, the new Lunae winery complex was inaugurated, owned by the Bosoni family, winemakers with sixty years of history, renowned for their outstanding enhancement of Vermentino Colli di Luni.
The result includes four buildings constructed from the ground up, covering a total of five thousand square meters, and is the product of five years of design and seven years of construction, with an investment of nine million euros.
The main idea that guiding the project was the creation of a refined and functional space that emphasizes the inseparable relationship between man and nature.
In fact, the building harmonizes with nature in terms of color and form, aiming to integrate it, where possible, into the underground.
The choice of materials also reflects this aspiration, incorporating to corten steel with its shifting hues, stone, and laminated wood on the ceilings.
The large windows, through which nature peeks in, reflect both the interior and exterior spaces depending on the viewpoint. blending representation and workspaces, transporting visitors into hybrid environments and placing the worker at the center of the scene.
Natural light has been designed to highlight the lines of contemporary architecture and the material details
To achieve this, simulations of underground greenery were created with alder trunks, terrariums, vines, and projections of images and sounds depicting farming activities during key field operations.
The open connections therefore fulfill the community’s desire to unite art with productive practicality, while remaining discreet and respectful of the surrounding landscape.
The SVC Winery Project, in designing the oenological area, also embraced this concept by incorporating oak barrels and ceramic amphorae in the room dedicated to wood aging, arranging them to facilitate both racking operations and the flow of visitors.
The Technical areas and laboratories have been designed to enhance the well- being of the workers and are equipped with the latest technologies available on the market.
All the machinery and tools have been selected with the aim of enhancing the profile of the wines and optimizing the work performance of the employees, such as the 60 temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks that enable fermentations tailored to the characteristics of the grape varieties and wines.
The temperature control for wine decanting is primarily ensured by the geometric system, equipped with horizontal probes in the underground level, the photovoltaic system, and the choice of panels with a high thermal coefficient.
With sixty-five hectares of vineyards, divided into small plots, and a production of around 500,000 bottles, Cantine Lunae is investing in a sustainable future and ranks as one of the most important wineries in Liguria.
